In fact, she considers being a full-time mom her top priority. In a previous interview, while speaking about her life and career, Dion expressed that her «life is to be a mom,» adding:

«It is what I enjoy the most. It is my most amazing reward.»

Two years ago, on Mother’s Day, the star shared a touching picture of herself in the middle of her three sons, surrounded by their dogs, while holding each other in side hug embraces and smiling at the camera. Her caption boasted about how privileged she felt to be a mom and wished fellow mothers a joyous day.

These days, while doing everything she can to combat the symptoms of Stiff Person Syndrome, Dion’s focus continues to be on her kids. In turn, according to a source, her children shower her with love and support. The same source also said:

«They are her light right now.»

Who Are Celine Dion’s Three Boys, René-Charles Angélil, Nelson Angélil and Eddy Angélil?

Dion shares a tight-knit bond with her three sons. Her firstborn, René-Charles, named after his late father, was born in Loxahatchee, Florida, on January 25, 2001. At the time, his mother was 32, and his dad was 59.

Interestingly, when René-Charles was born, Dion shared how just after she gave birth before she even had a chance to hold him, the news of his birth already started circulating on various media platforms on TV. As she turned her attention to the TV in her hospital room, she saw her doctor announcing everything about her baby, from the baby’s gender to how much he weighed: 6lbs., 8 oz.

Though Dion is going through a challenging time with her health ailment, her kids, whom she cherishes to no end, continue to provide her with solace and love.

By the time René-Charles turned five, Dion did her best to explain why she was always so busy when it came to her career. Dion also gave some insight into the personality little René-Charles had already been building.

In juxtaposition to his mom’s knack for ballads, René-Charles had a love of rock. Additionally, he enjoyed sports and playing on his Gamecube console.

Of her day-to-day routine when she would come home from work, she said that her then five-year-old would stay up waiting for her before they all went to sleep in the same bed. When the morning came, after a light breakfast, there would be some playtime.

When René-Charles turned sixteen, he played hockey, and Dion became a hockey mom and would attend his games, cheering loudly for him from the stands.

Dion and René-Charles have an endearing bond. After his dad tragically passed away in 2016 (prompting René-Charles’ tearjerking eulogy), she informed him that there was no pressure for him to feel as though he had to step up to be the man of the house.

Instead, she wanted him to focus on pursuing his own dreams and continued to support him in his endeavors. In 2018, when René-Charles was 17, those endeavors saw him pursue rap music.

He released two rap songs on SoundCloud and went by Big Tip as his stage name. The songs even garnered the top two slots on the Canadian SoundCloud R&B charts.

When Dion expressed wanting to become a parent againher desires were answered when she and her late spouse welcomed their twin boys using two of her embryos that were frozen for several years. She announced her pregnancy in May 2010, and the babies were born on October 23 that year.

While discussing details about her twins, Dion’s spokesperson revealed the inspiration behind their names: Nelson and Eddy. Nelson was named after the historic figure and former president of South Africa, Nelson Mandela. His brother, Eddy, was named after the star’s music producer, Eddy Marnay.

Eddy and Nelson were born in West Palm Beach, Florida, and weighed 5 lbs., 4 oz., and 5 lbs., 10 oz., respectively. According to their loving mom, from as early as infants, she could already see their personality traits developing. She said Nelson was the tough one of the two.

By the time René passed, his twin boys were only five, and Dion later disclosed how the little ones were coping:

«We have a little ritual where we say goodnight to him with a little picture. Then the kids talk to him. And they write words, put them in balloons and we send the balloons to the sky.»

Celine Dion Also Has a Stepdaughter and Two Stepsons

In addition to her three boys, Dion is also a stepmother to Anne-Marie Angélil. Anne-Marie is the daughter of René, whom he welcomed during one of his two former relationships. She is a French-Canadian media personality married to a famous musician, Marc Dupré, and has three children.

Not much is known about Anne-Marie, as she prefers to live a life away from the spotlight. However, her husband would share photos of her on his social media. Additionally, Dion attended her wedding.

The «That’s the Way It Is» musician is also the stepmother to stepsons Patrick and Jean-Pierre Angélil. They also come from René’s previous relationships.
