While he was driving his car, this man noticed what he thought to be a large injured wild cat laying in the middle of the road. Despite his great dread, he stopped and went to investigate.
Ben Lilly, a 40-year-old guy, noticed a leopard napping on the road near Hebden Bridge in West Yorkshire. Fearing for his safety, he cautiously parked his car and approached the animal. But as he got closer, he realized it was just a coat that had been left behind, perhaps by some partygoers.
Lilly decided to share his experience on Facebook even though he was embarrassed by the oversight despite his relief. But he had no idea it would become popular!
“Careful! On the way to Halifax, a leopard body beside the roadside! The father of two children, Ben Lilly, wrote on Facebook, “Oh no, it’s some tart’s coat from last night, can’t believe I turned back for this.”
Later, Lilly observed, “My heart was racing with a kind of excitement.” I observed something off in the distance as I rounded the bend and slowed down to give it a room in case it was an injured animal. Since I didn’t want anything to rip anything off my face, I stepped out gently, but as soon as I turned back and saw it from a different angle, I started laughing.
Soon after Ben regained consciousness and realized it was only a onesie and not a hurt leopard, he took some photos of it and put them online.
“I started laughing then to save my own embarrassment,” he said. I went up to a onesie. Its tail is thus explained. I thought at first it was a fur coat for a woman.
It turned out that Ben wasn’t the only driver who had fallen for the onesie that had been left behind.
“When I came back later, someone had thrown it upon the pavement. It had been remarked by a few commenters that they had seen it as well,” he said. I was just naive enough to stop, despite the fact that it was obvious that other drivers had the same thought.
