It may sound like a cliché, but it’s true that age is just a number. For example, ask Shirley Clements, a 63-year-old high school dance teacher. In 2015, Shirley was about to retire. She had been a teacher for a long time and she couldn’t have enjoyed it more, but unfortunately it was time to move on. However, she was not going to waste time being melancholy!

Quite the contrary, she decided to join her students in a hip-hop routine for an annual contest she had started 19 years earlier. The resulting images will put all this “fear of old age” into perspective. If you spend a lot of time surfing the internet, you’ve probably seen lots of videos of old people doing amazing things. Dancing is one of them, and Shirley’s performance, which was recorded when she was 60, ranks among the best.

As Bruno Mars’ “Uptown Funk” entered, the young dancers took to the stage and took their positions before Shirley joined them.
And she didn’t do a great job “for a 60-year-old,” instead hitting every move with the same precision as her younger counterparts. After all, she’s the one who taught them everything they know. Obviously, all the viewers went nuts. After the first minute, the girls split up and let the men take center stage with her favorite teacher, and she didn’t disappoint. But then, 20 seconds later, she did something most people half her age could never do. This queen did the headstand! Honestly, most of us never could. She is a legend. Watch the video and appreciate the talent of this dancer. What do you think of his attitude? Post your thoughts in the comments section!
