Goliath was born on a dairy farm. He was very thin and weak, and the calf was assigned for slaughter.

Upon learning of this, a local resident, Shaylee Hubbs, intervened in the fate of the little calf.

She bought the animal and settled it on her ranch in Danville, California.

The calf needed careful care and enhanced nutrition, but experienced farmers knew what to do, and together with the local veterinarian, took care of him.

On the farm, the baby became friends with the Hubbs’ dogs – so much so that he began to consider them his brothers, and himself – a puppy.

He repeated everything after the dogs: he played catch with them, drank water from their bowls, slept on their beds, putting his muzzle on his front legs, not like a cow.

He asked to be scratched behind his ear, which cows, in general, never do.

He developed a special relationship with a dog named Leonidas.

The dog looked after the calf as if it were his own, and when the calf was not well, he lay next to him for hours.

Due to the fact that the Hubbs’ farm is located in a rolling flatland, where coyotes and cougars live, little Goliath was settled in a playhouse in the backyard.

But he often looked in the windows, jealous of the dogs that were allowed into the house.

One day, Shaylee accidentally left the door to the courtyard open, and when she returned, she saw a very funny scene.

Seeing how his older brothers perched on the sofa for an afternoon nap, Goliath decided that he could do that too, and took up half the space with his huge carcass.

Seeing this, Shaylie couldn’t help laughing, but she didn’t interfere.

Since then, Goliath frequently sleeps on the couch with his brother and best friend, Great Dane Leonidas.

Fortunately for the calf, no one can resist his charm, so the owners forgive him a lot and try to treat all his antics with humor.

He was lucky to be in good hands.
